MEETINGS.
Various
meetings are held regularly at the Centre. The main ones include:
1.
Senior farm management Committee meetings;
This is a monthly meeting held every first Wednesday to review
the achievements and to formulate strategies for improvement.
Members include head of the station (Chief Fisheries Officer),
all fisheries officers and procurement and accounting personnel.
2.
Staff General Meeting:
This meeting is attended by all members of staff at SAC and
held after every two months to share issues relevant to SAC'S
vision and policy changes in the civil service. It is a forum
for learning and exchange of new information and ideas among
the staff of various cadres as well as an ideal opportunity
for the staff members to interact and socialize with one another.
3.
Fish Farmers Field Day:
This is an annual meeting where fish farmers from various parts
of the country are invited to the centre. It is a forum for
exposure to practical issues of fish farming. Farmers also get
the opportunity to interact with one another closely and share
ideas and experiences on fish farming.
4.
Monthly BOMOSA Meetings:
Sagana Aquaculture Centre is a partner of the BOMOSA program
whose purpose is 'to integrate BOMOSA cage fish farming system
in reservoirs, ponds and temporary water bodies in Eastern Africa.
This program is funded by the Eurpean Union and coordinated
by Universitat fur Bodenkultur wien (BOKU) Vienna-Autria.

Monthly
meetings are held at the centre to review the progress of this
project which is viewed by SAC to be very strategic towards
increasing fish production in Kenya. Members of this meeting
are;
• Assistant Director of Fisheries (Central and Eastern
region),
• All members of SAC farm management committee,
• A representative from of the Director of Fisheries.
